A Boston Wedding, Event and Portrait Photography Team

AMWPhotos is a Boston based photography team that focuses mainly on wedding coverage. Our lead photographers are Ariel Mandeville and myself, Matt Wynne. For some more info on us just click our names.

As a team, we love to work together. All of our collections but one, include the two of us covering your wedding as a team. This allows us to work freely through the day and know what the other is doing almost intuitively. For larger events we bring along an assistant and sometimes even a third photographer, but as a general rule it is just the two of us.

We love what we do! I can not say it enough, we are photographers because we love to tell stories visually. If a label is required for our style than I suppose it would be a split between photojournalistic and documentarian. We are not your grandmothers photographer! Technology allows us to do things now that were thought impossible in the past.

While you will not find any table shots in our portfolio, we do work very well together when it comes time for formals. We enjoy a much more photojournalist style of photography but understand the need for a few formals. We enjoy the opportunity to get creative with our lighting and bring our style of imagery to your wedding day.

Among the pages of this site you will find some more information about us, a few galleries containing samples of our work, an easy to use form to contact us with any questions and our blog to stay up to date on what we are doing. This is just the start, when you contact us you will find that our personalities cannot possibly be contained within the confines a few web pages. We are happy to answer questions and committed to helping you find the photographer that is right for you, even if it is not us.

While we wish that finding a photographer is THE top priority for your wedding day we understand that there are many considerations. Boston is a great place to have a wedding but not all of you will be taking your vows within the city. Ariel Mandeville

I'd like to say I that I've dreamed about being a wedding photographer since I was old enough to start thinking about careers, the truth is I haven't. I have however for as long as I can remember had a camera in my hands or around my neck, photographing anything and everything I saw. As I got older being a professional photographer seemed like a dream job to me. I wanted to be like Steve Mccurry,traveling all over the world documenting many different cultures and people. I enrolled at New England School of Photography with that one ambition in my head and came away with so much more. I met Matt and shared an amazing albeit stressful two years learning the technique, art and business of photography. The winter of our last year in school two things happened, we found out the exciting if not a little overwhelming news that we would be having a baby and... I began photographing weddings. With the reality that I probably wasn't going to be traveling all over the world with a pack on my back and a camera in one hand just yet, I took up assisting at weddings. Although they may not seem anything alike in reality I am able to apply that same photojournalistic style of photography that I love. At weddings I meet all sorts of different people and get to document one of the most important days of their lives. The best part about my job is that I get to do it with Matt who is a wonderful father, partner and amazing photographer. I look forward to sharing the many adventures of life with each other as well as our son Aydon.

Matt Wynne

I picked up a camera in high school and carried it with me through college in Gunnison, CO. At that point in my life I thought I was going to be an accountant, thinking there was no money in photography. After leaving Colorado and returning home to upstate NY, I was far more determined to stay out of the office. I spent some time saving money for photography school and never looked back.

Two years at the New England School of Photography gave me the foundation I needed to pursue a career with my passion. It also introduced me to a wonderful woman, Ariel, who I now live with; work with and raise a child with. It's not always easy, but what fun would that be anyway.
